August 16 A Look Inside of the Heart of a MissionaryI am pleased to present to you an interview of one of the soon to be missionaries to Ebeye, Mrs. Vatreisha A. Nyemba. Vatreisha has only two days left here at home in the good ole' U S of A. She will soon fly off to a night in Honolulu Hawaii and then to her final destination...EBEYE (yeah!!!).
Q1: Vatreisha, How did you and your husband come to the decision to serve as school teachers at Ebeye Gem Christian School?
A: My husband and I have felt that we were called to Nations, but we never thought that we would go to Ebeye. My husband is from Africa and we thought that we would eventually go to Africa and serve in various capacities and also launch into impacting Nations. Our pastor asked us to pray about going to Ebeye and we prayed about it. To make a long story short, God revealed to us that it is an opportunity to sow and to serve into the lives of the wonderful people that we have heard about and into our destiny that reaches far beyond our time on Ebeye.
Q2: Would you say that the timing of the opportunity was convenient?
A: When is leaving to go halfway across the world and leaving your life ever convenient?
Q3: Tell me about your hopes and expectations for your time with the school and on Ebeye.
A: Let's start with expectations: My most dominant expectation is in the faithfulness of God, meaning more than on any person, God has taken me here and is going to provide for me in every every. I have talked to God about it and he will meet me there. He will exceed all expectations that I could have because he has encouraged me to trust Him.
Q5: What would you say to someone who may be considering going to a mission field?
A: I would first like to encourage all people to consider the mission field because we're all called to go in a sense. Going for one person may be to their friends and family and to tell them about Jesus. To another person, it may be about going to his or her church and serving and bringing forth the vision there. For another person, it may be to go to the streets, to the people outside of the church in his or her area. Finlly one may be called to Nations outside of family and friends. Whatever the case may be for an individual, I most encourage him or her to set his or her heart apart to be available to God. Not just saying the words "God use me", but actually living that out where he or she may find opportunity.
